Two title fights added to UFC 215
Edmonton goes from strength to strength
UFC 215 in Edmonton Canada has just had two more great fights added to it’s lineup, today the UFC announced Demetrious Johnson will be taking on Ray Borg and the much anticipated Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko rematch will finally take place.
Johnson is looking to make his 11th successful title defence, he currently ties the UFC record with former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.
The Nunes vs Shevchenko rematch has been sitting in limbo since Nunes pulled out of the fight the day of UFC 213 but the new date of September 9th isn’t far off. Shevchenko lost a unanimous decision to Nunes back in March 2016 but had a strong showing in their first fight with a dominant third round. Her slow start gave Nunes the nod on the judges score card and with this being a five round fight it will be interesting to see how it goes, a second time.
The current lineup for UFC 215 as it stands:
Demetrious Johnson vs. Ray Borg – for flyweight title
Amanda Nunes vs. Valentina Shevchenko – for women’s bantamweight title
Francis Ngannou vs. Junior Dos Santos
Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro
Henry Cejudo vs. Wilson Reis
Rick Glenn vs. Gavin Tucker
Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Sarah Moras
Arjan Bhullar vs. Luis Henrique
Gilbert Melendez vs. Jeremy Stephens
UFC 215 takes place in Edmonton Canada, September 9th
