UFC 192: Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson

Daniel Cormier has his first title defence set against “The Mauler” this title fight will take place at UFC 192  Oct. 3, 2015, in Houston, Texas.

The announcement was made during UFC Glasgow on Saturday night.

“DC” picked up the vacant  title in May beating Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, after the fight  he was pretty vocal about his rematch with Jon Jones but as Jones UFC career is still in limbo Gustafsson will be his first challenger.

Cormier would have loved for the challenger to be Bader but on Gus Cormier said “I think Alex is a worthy opponent. He’ll be a tough challenge. I’m sure we’ll give the Houston fans an exciting and fun fight.”

Gustafsson coming off a loss and straight into a title bout may not sit well for some MMA fans but Gus is looking forward to the fight saying this “It’s great to have a date set for this fight and I’m ready for my title shot. I’m very focused and motivated for this fight, but also I’m very grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait — bring it on.”
