Round 1 – Ray dwarfes Mik in size. Ray slips early. Both guys popping jabs. Kick blocked by Ray. Nice leg kick from Ray. Stevie Fuckin Ray chant catches on! Massive left for Ray. Nice body kick for Ray. Head kick by Ray blocked. It’s Mik moving forward but Ray landing better. Big right for Mik. Both guys pretty cagy. Both swing and miss. Nice body kick for Ray. Nice left follows it. Hard left lands for Ray and followed by lovely leg kick. Nice knee for Mik. Mik ends with a nice right hand but not enough. 10-9 Ray – pretty comfy round for Ray. Was a purely striking round and Ray landed more, landed heavier.
Round 2 – big left for Ray. Ray moving forward more this round. Leg kicks for Ray hitting the mark. Huge left for Ray on the counter. That straight left proving the difference. Body kick for Ray. Left hook for Mik has Ray moving back. Mik attempts takedown but easily stuffed. They’re back in the middle. Big leg kick for Ray. Nice right for Mik who is creeping into this. Leg kick for Mik. Mik pins Ray to cage. They separate. Big shot for Ray. Leg kick for Mik. Mik down briefly but back up. 10-10 – really really hard to score. 10-9 either man would be acceptable but due to the closeness I say 10-10 Ray far too strong in grappling department but Miks activity striking kept him alive there.
Round 3 – Mik slips early. Leg kick for Ray. Mik pushes Ray to cage. Mik controlling the octagon but not landing much. Both guys land in s big exchange. Huge left hook misses for Ray. Nice one two from Mik. Mik the one constantly moving forward. Mik pins Ray to cage. Ray shrugs him off. Leg kick for Ray. Nice left for Ray. Body kick for Mik. Mik shoots. Easy stuff from Ray who reverses position. Mik lands a nice knee on the break. Lovely spinning elbow from Mik. Massive takedown for Ray on the bell but not enough. 10-9 Mik – that was the Frenchman’s round.
Octagon Control the key there in a round where not much landed. I have it a draw – all depends how you see Round 2. Steven Ray def. Mickael Lebout by unanimous decision Solid from Stevie, who neutralized a decent opponent for two rounds. There will be no promo due to time constraints.
