UFC looking to bring more shows to Britain

The independent via the financial times are reporting that the UFC want to do up to four shows each year in the UK.

Lorenzo Fertitta spoke to the financial times after a successful UFC London show where he said “We used to do events here and then we would be away for a year or two and not come back. So now we are committing to a number of events on a consistent basis.”

When Fertitta was asked about how many shows UK fans could expect he replied “We’ll probably end up doing somewhere between three or four a year, going between the various cities. We’ve played everywhere from Manchester to Newcastle to Birmingham and we’ll get back to those markets at some point. Also Scotland and Ireland.”

The UFC have definitely upped their European shows over the last few years and it’s great news for fight fans to be able to get to more shows and have the option to choose what shows to go to.

No current UK shows are scheduled but there are two upcoming ones set for Europe in the coming months, on April 7th Croatia will host an event in Zagreb and in May, Holland will host one in Rotterdam.

The future looks bright for MMA in Europe and the UK.
