Michael Chiesa out of UFC Fight Night 91 main event fight against Tony Ferguson

Michael was set to face Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 91 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota but due to a ruptured disk he has been forced to pull out

This was going to be Chiesa’s first main event and he was hopeful for a real test on a fight that could have championships implecations

Like most injuries it was an unfortunate accident in training that led the the pull out, he was flipping tires at his strength and condition workout when it happened, something he was used to.

Initially he thought he would be good to go after a couple of days rest but the injury was just getting worse, he consulted two chiropractors before going to the doctors who notified him of the ruptured disk

Chiesa plans to take 8 weeks to properly recover from this injury then be re-evaluated by a physician to see if surgery is needed

On whether we will see Chiesa Vs Ferguson down the line – Chiesa thinks so, he believes both fighters are destined to fight
