UFC 197: Rafael dos Anjos Vs. Conor McGregor and Holly Holm Vs. Miesha Tate

Tonight the UFC announced some major news regarding the UFC 197 card, it had been rumored that McGregor would make the jump to lightweight and challenge Dos Anjos for the belt and tonight it was made official.

Dos Anjos is coming off of an impressive win over Donald Cerrone with McGregor coming off of a 13 second win over Jose Aldo. A victory for McGregor would make him the first ever UFC fighter to hold belts in two different weight classes at the same time, There have been fighters who have held belts in different weight division but not as the same time.

 

 

 

 

 

Also announced for the card which will no doubt be the co-main event is the first defense of Holly Holm’s reign and maybe unexpected to some it is against Miesha Tate and not the Ronda Rousey, the rematch many would have thought.

Holm is coming off of the shock KO win over Ronda Rouse in Melbourne with Miesha Tate having won her last 4 fights putting herself at the front of the queue for a title shot
