UFC returns to London Feb 27/16
Today the UFC announced their first UK show of 2016 will be a return to The O2 on Saturday, February 27
Joe Carr, Vice President of International at UFC, said: “UFC and MMA have enjoyed a phenomenal level of success and growth across Europe in recent years and London remains a particularly important market for us.
“We recently sold out the 3Arena in Dublin in a matter of seconds and the SSE Hydro in Glasgow a few hours after going on sale earlier this year, therefore this event will be a great opportunity for fans who missed out on tickets to those dates to secure a seat this time around.
“When you combine the fantastic fan support with a growing roster of world class British and Irish fighting talent, it’s difficult to predict anything other than an unforgettable, sell-out event in London on February 27.”
As talk of th event began after UFC Glasgow, British UFC fighters Michael Bisping, Brad Pickett and lightweight Ross Pearson have all showed intrest in competing on this card with Pickett hinting that this would maybe be a great place to end his career. He said to MMA Junkie during the UFC Glasgow media scrums
“I, personally, don’t want to go out like that. I’d love to maybe have – if I decide to do it again – one more fight in London. But then, hey, if I have that and I knock the guy out in the first round I’d be like, ‘Hey, I want to fight again.’ I guess I have a lot of decision-making to do. I don’t want to promise anyone. But I’d like to fight again in February next year on the O2 card. Is that going to be my last one? I don’t know yet. It’s a bit up in the air at the moment.”
Tickets will be made available to O2 Priority and UFC Fight Club members on Tuesday December 1, followed by Sun+ members on Wednesday 2nd.
UFC Newsletter subscribers will have access from 10:00 Friday December 4 and tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12:00 on the same day.
