Urijah Faber to retire after upcoming Brad Pickett Fight

It looks like Urijah Faber is ready to call time on his storied career after his upcoming fight with Brad Pickett in Sacramento.

The former WEC champion and UFC title contender has said

“I’ve been kind of waiting for this, and this is actually going to be my last fight,”

Faber told MMAFighting.

“And it just feels right to do it in (Sacramento) in this new arena. It just feels like the right time and the right place. I’ve been waiting for this new arena to be built, I was waiting for that Dominick Cruz opportunity, and I feel like this is going to be an epic event and I can’t wait to do it in front of the people I love.”

Faber will close out his career in Sacramento at the new Golden 1 Center on the same card as newly signed Scottish fighter Paul Craig as well as the showdown between Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt and a headline fight of Faber’s teammate Paige VanZant who faces Michelle Waterson.

Faber has been on a slight skid as of late but is still no doubt one of the best bantamweights in the world.

UFC on Fox: VanZant vs. Waterson will be held event held on December 17
