Yair Rodriguez cut from UFC?
Unexpected Turn of events
Late Thursday night Dana White told the LA Times “The guy’s off a year, rejects a fight with Lamas and then doesn’t want to fight a guy below him in the rankings?” White said. “He can go somewhere else. We have no use for him. He calls that fight fake news. This is real news.”
Rodriguez last fight was in May 2017 losing to Frankie Edgar by TKO (Doctors Stoppage) citing injury as the cause
This news comes as a shock because a matchup between Rodriguez and Zabit Magomedsharipov had apparently been set the day’s before, for UFC 227 Aug. 4
Rodriguez (10-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) was an up and coming prospect and a potential draw for the UFC’s Mexican market but where and who he fights for next is currently up in the air.
